INTERNATIONAL star Lea Salonga is helping make the dreams of marginalized children and adults come true by performing in the benefit concert ‘Echoes and Dreams’ at the Araneta Coliseum on November 30, 8 p.m.
‘Echoes and Dreams’ was chosen as title of the show so that the dreams of – victims of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, those born with conditions that make it difficult for them to normally interact with society – will be articulated through words, music, dance and visual presentations.
Talented artists from beneficiary organizations, those afflicted with Autism, Down Syndrome, recovering from addictions, and from the marginalized groups, will be doing some performances. One of them is world-renowned Marimba player Tum Tum Mendoza, an Autism patient.
Other performers include international jazz talent Stella Ignacio; American singer and Dyna recording artist Dan Lasher; and young singer Clark Gamul.
The concert is spearheaded by Center for Arts Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with Autism Society Philippines, Self Enhancement for Life Foundation, Immaculate Heart in Memoriam, Independent Living Learning Center, Down Syndrome Association, and the Rotary Club of Makati-Rockwell.
